Belgian's finest: 1. Les Hommes

Behold the new collection F/W 2012-2013 of Les Hommes, designed by Tom Notte and Bart Vandebosch. Men Trend totally fell in love with these looks!
The set of the show looked so beautiful, we really hope to see a fashion show of this A-list Belgian brand in the future.
The leitmotifs for this collection are: genuine, masculine and chic.
You can see a feel for elegance throughout, for dressing up. There are really unique pieces like a classic bomber-jacket cut in python and camel-hair. They started in Peru to get their inspiration, but it is an abstract idea of South America that permeates the collection, seeping into the clothing through a rich burnt palette of ochre, jade, merlot and velvety almost-black. Men Trend noticed that color combinations are striking: anthracite against camel, deep red against silver-grey. This leaded the designers to the abstract artist Peter Halley, whose geometric work inspired color-blocked sweaters and suiting.
The accessories underline the idea of gentlemanly chic. Shoes fuse heavy walking-boots, brogues and Oxfords – a wardrobe of male footwear that relies on eternal style, rather than fashion for its impact. Thick-soled, they form an empathic conclusion to a dramatic silhouette.
There is not one piece of this collection that we dislike. Every look is a sight for sore eyes! If we could, we would buy multiple pieces to wear on a daily basis. We’ve been fans since day one because Les Hommes is one of those brands that can pull off an extravagant, architectural style but still have that contemporary classiness every men’s outfit needs. If you want to buy some Les Hommes, you definitely have our approval!

Here are some of our favorite looks!

ROAR!

These days you can spot a lot of animal prints in the streets. It was already hot previous winter, but this year it’s hot again! We’ve seen it before in the H&M and Lanvin collaboration a few years ago. But this time it’s bigger and bolder: it’s EVERYWHERE!

We don’t really like it when one is dressed from tip to toe in leopard or tiger print. Old ladies might pull it off, but men can’t. However, combined with a basic, casual outfit or a powerful suit jacket, it just might be the awesomeness itself.

So, to help you out, here are some tips that might come in handy when you’re looking for that extra ‘roar’ in your daily life:

- NEVER shop for animal print at the women’s department. Don’t be tempted to do this when you’re tired of looking for something good. Women’s clothing is more often with animal designs, but you’ll regret it later.
- Modesty is key: 1 item of leopard in 1 outfit will suffice.
- Be playful: don’t go straight for the ‘standard’ brown leopard spots, but try different colors.
- Wear a print: faux leopard fur is tacky.

Men Trend thinks leopard print is the best and we made a selection of some hot designer items. Enjoy! You can find the price and the brand underneath the pictures if you consider buying something. Some of these items are on sale!

H&M Men’s Lookbook SS 2012

Men Trend is a big fan of the new collection for next summer by H&M.
It’s very colorful and very preppy: “très chique!”.
We think the Swedish retail giant Hennes & Mauritz did a great job! There are looks for every type of guy that’s out there. You can see pieces such as navy blazers, neon colored shoes, striped tops and strappy sandals. It is all about bright and warm colors. As you can see H&M made use of chinos. There is even a pink blazer! They also made some really nice accessories, such as sunglasses and men’s bags.
We are extremely excited for this collection to come out!
Be prepared for launch, because we all know that many items go quickly out of stock when they’ve just hit the racks! Take a look now and choose your favorite outfit. Let us know what you think of this collection.

Happy Newyear!

Men Trend wishes you all a Happy Newyear!
We hope you had a great time yesterday and celebrated in style!
The gentlemen of Men Trend live in Antwerp and for this NYE we stayed in our hometown.
First we dined in a fabulous restaurant, and the food was delicious (Malaysian, hhmmm...)!
Afterwards we went to see the fireworks and had a couple of drinks.
We enjoyed our evening very much!

The cathedral of Antwerp.
The town hall of Antwerp was beautifully lit!
The Christmas market was still there, yay!
"HAPPY NEWYEAR!!"
Christophe was wearing: peacoat by Xagon, H&M pants, Guess shirt and a vintage bowtie from grandads closet.
Nino was wearing: the Hetregó Osprey goose down jacket, Imperial scarf, United Colors of Benetton cardigan, pants by Nudie Jeans and a t-shirt by Le Fabuleux Marcel de Bruxelles.
Moët, Godiva,  fairytales byViktor & Rolf and a bowtie: sounds like a perfect survival kit to us!
