Men Trend did a collaboration with Laurel London, a new British brand that offers 3D printed iPhone cases. They look very unique and stylish, don't they? They're made of a high-quality plastic, are pretty sturdy and they fit your iPhone perfectly. We adore the vanity blue and the vanity black version!

With this product, Laurel London combined a perfect combination between fashion and technology. When buying this iPhone case, you know you have something unique. A case can cost you up to €40-45.

Event: Cesar Casier's MODEL KITCHEN

 "Models DO eat" is the statement Cesar Casier wants to make with his first (cook)book, 'Model Kitchen'. He's a 24-year-old Belgian top model with a passion for fashion and cooking.

 

The recipes in his book vary from juices to main dishes to deserts, and show that good food can also be very healthy! Every dish has the Cesar touch, which basically means that you'll make your Cesar Salad with a pear instead of cheese from now on! ;-)

But it's more than just a cookbook! He also shares his favorite places to eat, drink coffee,... in the 4 fashion capitals: New York, Paris, London and Milan. He even interviewed 10 other top models, like Mila Jovovich and Karlie Kloss, about their favorite dish!

 

After attending the release party in Antwerp, we can give you only 1 advice: BUY THE BOOK! It's really refreshing, funky and written from the heart. We tried some dishes already and oh boy... it tastes good!

Belgian’s finest: 2. Dries van Noten

Dries Van Noten presented his FW ’12-’13 collection in Paris at Fashion Week, earlier this year. He’s a Belgian designer, who studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp and graduated in the early Eighties. He’s also a member of the ‘Antwerp Six’, therefore he is one of the most influential designers Belgium (or even the whole world for that matter) has ever seen. It would be a mistake not to write about this brilliant designer and his astonishing collection.
Men Trend spotted prints in hyper-colored suits and jackets. It was a psychedelic experience for all of us. As artists were painting a white wall, the men strutted down the bare runway in some of the most colorful patterned jackets. The man himself described the collection as a mix of Oscar Wilde and Frank Zappa. It was decidedly so, as the colorful suits were also replaced by ones in finer fabrics like velvet. Aesthetics were taken from Dutch artist Gijs Frieling and calligraphy from the words of Wilde. The music choice was very special but fits perfectly with the atmosphere he created.
We liked it very much. It’s a very daring collection, with bold silhouettes and surrealistic patterns in pastel colors. In other words, nothing like we’ve ever seen before, yet with a very clear ‘Van Noten’ stamp on it. It is a really nice collection. The more classic pieces have a modern cut, which makes the tailoring look even more beautiful.

Belgian's finest: 1. Les Hommes

Behold the new collection F/W 2012-2013 of Les Hommes, designed by Tom Notte and Bart Vandebosch. Men Trend totally fell in love with these looks!

The set of the show looked so beautiful, we really hope to see a fashion show of this A-list Belgian brand in the future.
The leitmotifs for this collection are: genuine, masculine and chic.

You can see a feel for elegance throughout, for dressing up. There are really unique pieces like a classic bomber-jacket cut in python and camel-hair. They started in Peru to get their inspiration, but it is an abstract idea of South America that permeates the collection, seeping into the clothing through a rich burnt palette of ochre, jade, merlot and velvety almost-black. Men Trend noticed that color combinations are striking: anthracite against camel, deep red against silver-grey. This leaded the designers to the abstract artist Peter Halley, whose geometric work inspired color-blocked sweaters and suiting.
The accessories underline the idea of gentlemanly chic. Shoes fuse heavy walking-boots, brogues and Oxfords – a wardrobe of male footwear that relies on eternal style, rather than fashion for its impact. Thick-soled, they form an empathic conclusion to a dramatic silhouette.
There is not one piece of this collection that we dislike. Every look is a sight for sore eyes! If we could, we would buy multiple pieces to wear on a daily basis. We’ve been fans since day one because Les Hommes is one of those brands that can pull off an extravagant, architectural style but still have that contemporary classiness every men’s outfit needs. If you want to buy some Les Hommes, you definitely have our approval!
