Outfit post: Rue des Barres

Nino and I did some shoots at PFW back in June, but we forgot to post them. So we will be posting a lot of these the next few weeks!

I'm wearing a black blazer from Topman and a dip dye T-shirt from Sisley. My jeans are by Filippa K. The shoes I'm wearing are Floris Van Bommel and the bag is Paul Smith, obviously!

Hope you guys like it and enjoy your week!

Timberland Earthkeepers® Hookset

It gives us great pleasure to see a brand, that was ragingly popular when we were kids, make effort to find new styles, new ways of presenting itself. Some of you may have a wrong opinion about Timberland: it sure isn’t all about the classic boot anymore! Men Trend was given the opportunity to try out some of the new SS12 models. It’s obviously an offer you can’t refuse, because let’s face it: all 90s kids have a sentimental feeling with this brand!
Christophe is wearing the Earthkeepers® Boot, and Nino the Chukka. We couldn’t be happier: great models, awesome colors and eco-conscious. The fabric is 100% organic cotton and the soles are made of natural latex. We expected nothing less from Timberland ;-).
Combined with a simple white-beige outfit (Topman-Louis Vuitton), the blue really pops: it completes the look beautifully, doesn’t it? A genuine Saint-Tropez outfit.
Christophe believed, since he was wearing a boot, his outfit should be more Rock-'n-roll, so he combined it with a washed jeans (Guess) and a Ed Hardy T-shirt. Pretty cool, huh? Especially with the rolled up leg:  #hipster!

We totally recommend these shoes, because they’re great for during the summer: breathable and light-weighted. But we should warn you: don’t wear them without socks! And consider buying half a size bigger than normal: they tend to fit quite small. If  your are still doubting (like that is even possible!): they’re not that expensive and much more original than your worn-out Vans!
We would like to thank InfectMedia, Ruben in particular, and Timberland for making this possible! Thank you for believing in Men Trend.

Event: Tommy Hilfiger's Promise Collection

Men Trend celebrated along with Tommy Hilfiger his launch of The Promise Collection.
The whole collection is inspired by Africa and 100% of the proceeds of this collection will be donated to Millennium Promise. Men Trend had the chance to go to the exclusive event in the Tommy Hilfiger Flagship store in Antwerp and be the first to check out the collection. It was a lovely cocktail party and we enjoyed African tunes and beautiful clothes! There was a promise tree: you could leave your promise in it or make a wish, so we did! A photo exhibition and a movie that showed Katie Holmes meeting the villagers of Ruhiira told the story behind the collection. Tommy Hilfiger visited Ruhiira in 2010, a village located in Uganda . This trip made him want to do some more, after he already collaborated to create a Promise Collection in 2009. The goal of Hilfiger is to help raise public awareness and halve the poverty by 2015. The promise collection features American design classics reinterpreted with African colors, prints and motives. It is in stores and available online right now! Go and check it out: spread the fashion love to save people from poverty!

Christophe was wearing a Topman blazer, Tommy Hilfiger shirt, jeans by Guess and boots by Olivier Strelli.

Nino was wearing a Topman blazer, Asos shirt, tie by Selected, Fortex tieclip, Louis Vuitton belt, Nudie Jeans and Zara shoes.

Stylish to the gym!

Finally I have my own Ben Sherman Barrel Bag! I was dying to have one of these!
When looking around on web shops, I also immediately went for the barrel bags!
I don’t know why it took me so long before I bought one, but that doesn’t matter anymore!
Actually I didn’t buy this one, it was a birthday gift of Nino (yes yes, the other ‘half’ of Men Trend)! So, a big thanks to Nino! “Thumbs up”!
I really like Fred Perry Barrels too, but if you compare the two brands, Ben Sherman has better quality for its price and is often more beautiful! But that’s just my opinion.
The shape is really awesome as well! This one is dark blue; the red and white stripes are really a great touch! You can wear it in many different ways, as you can see on the pictures below. Actually I can’t say anything negative at all!

In the picture: Christophe of Men Trend

This is Christophe speaking! Let’s take a look ‘behind the scenes’ of my personal life.
In my spare time, I sometimes like to do modeling jobs. I’m not trying to make it my profession, but it is just fun to do beside schoolwork and all the usual boring stuff that has to be done in life!
I know the photographer for quite some time and the female model too: she’s one of my best friends.
Her name is RenĂ©e Van Osta, I love that girl so much! She’s also a blogger.
Make sure to check out her lifestyle blog, Mellow Yellow! Hope you like the pictures!
